Sorry I did not respond to your message in July - things had been hectic, and I had been away from the site.

Apologies again,
Kevin

Hi Caroline! You seem like a very interesting person. I am interested in anything having to do with the study or exploration of the world, like geography, anthropology, or especially ecology, which is actually my field of study. My main interests are all connected to science or science fiction, written or television/movies. I read some of your discussions. First of all, I found out that I have Asperger's about a year ago, and I tell people about it the same way I tell them anything about myself, like what I like or where I am from. You will probably feel better once you do the same thing, since you seem to want people to know that you are an aspie. I know it made me feel better. Also, I don't know why people would be that way toward you concerning dating. I wouldn't mind anything concerning movement (you mentioned tourettes), and I like talking to people with any unique qualities, especially aspies. I know two other aspies (and I suspect two other people I knew were also aspies) and I find that I connect with other aspies best. It seems like you have a lot of great qualities, like you would be a great person to know. I have had a lot of issues concerning romantic relationships myself. I have been interested in several people throughout my life, but it has never gone beyond friendship. I am not sure why. I don't really know the "rules" of it, so I tend to just express fondness and see if they reciprocate. I am a caring person, and I think that I am an interesting person. I just don't know how to create that "spark".

Yeah, I know. My father is usually the only one who will play with me, and he's tough. He plays against the computer for practice. Maybe I should try it, too...

I've lived in the Bay Area my whole life. My AS makes it difficult for me to imagine changing residence.

I'm a big X-men fan, though I was pretty disapointed by the movies. I've been collecting comics since high shcool. I have a passion for art house movies, playing the drums, literature, science fiction, and outdoors activities (especially Lake Tahoe.) I work in a biotech lab.

How are you enjoying college? I had a difficult time when I first went to college and would give anything to have another chance at it.

Whenever I encounter a fellow Aspie I'm always curious to know how they became diagnosed. I though I had AS back in 1997 but was told that I was too high functioning. I wasn't correctly diagnosed until 2006.

Hey! Welcome to AspieSocial. Where are you going to shcool? If your're looking for an appartment, my landlord has an has an availability for the house he is renting in the East Bay hills. I can give you the details if you would like.

Good to meet another Bay Area Aspie. See if you can come to the next AASHM meeting in San Francisco sometime... lots of women have been attending. Google AASHM for more info.
