Actually, when I saw the photo I thought... Stephen Hawkins, author of 'A Brief History of Time'.

A lovely photo, Randall :o) And I'm glad your able to call yourself a 'man' - which indeed you are. The word kind of catches in my throat when I think about applying it to myself... I just don't think of myself that way - I don't feel deserving of the title 'Man'.

Your picture reminds me of the Borg. Intentional?

If you were a paragraph of text, what would the paragraph say to describe itself?
My name is Randall J. Currie. I am a 36 year old man (5'9", 130lbs). That's right. I said MAN! You got a problem with that? I live in north-central Massachusetts, where I work full-time as a mail processor for a major off-price retail corporation. You can call me Randall, Randy, Tophet, Erasmus, Pfhoreigner, whatever you prefer. I also share the blessings and rough edges of Asperger's Syndrome, a form of high-functioning Autism. I make less eye contact than usual, the affect of my body language and tone is often lacking or misrepresentative (so don't try to "read me"), and I tend to miss more subtle non-verbal cues.

I am currently seeking a life partner who is willing to take the time to learn my "language" and willing to receive emotional affirmations in less than traditional ways. I may not always seem like I am listening, especially when I am doing so intently, but I can learn to be romantic same as any other guy. And my heart isn't too small for kids. In the meantime, I aim to live life as much as possible.

I am also angling to break into the housing market and own my own property sometime during or before 2009. Meantime, I can occasionally be found doing a short set at Sally O's in Somerville or 3 G's in Worcester at comedy open mikes, honing my writing and consistently failing at delivery. :-)

Life has been unkind in the past but I have found that once I can overcome my own inertia, I can actually get some things done. Things are slowly coming together for me, even though I know there will always be new obstacles to overcome. I'm thankful for the friends I have, and for my mother who has encouraged me to achieve in spite of myself.

Describe your ideal person:
Caring

Artistic
Autistic
Free-spirited
Financially responsible
Smoking hot personality to go with her looks ;-)
You're hanging out with friends and having a good time. What are you doing?
Watching a movie, discussing life over food and drink, playing videogames, or going out to a cinema, bowling alley, bicycling, hiking, or just plain walking to discover new sights around town.
5 things you're really good at:
1. Talking your ear off about certain subjects.
2. Cutting through BS to see what incentives drive people and organizations (now including what motivates sociopathic personalities).
3. Spelling, grammar, and punctuation.
4. Developing creative science fiction concepts.
5. Figuring out hardware/software settings on computers and other electronics.
5 things you're not so good at:
Socializing with members of the opposite sex.
Social networking (how most jobs are obtained).
Job hunting (my resumé writing skills are fine).
Writing well-rounded, believable characters in fiction.
Letting go of anything or anyone where the heart is involved.
What is your theme song?
Fields of Gold, by Sting
When the revolution comes, what will you be doing?
Exploring maps and the field environment and suggesting hidden angles from which to attack or to watch for surprises by the enemy. I would serve as a scout or guide. I'd also avoid eating mysterious meat pies offered with flowers by beautiful aspie girls.

;-)
